At Fine Framing, we consider the needs of our customers the most important factor. When you arrive with your cherished paintings prints and masterpieces, you can be sure that you've come to the right place.
To start with you will be asked what you want from your artwork and how it is to be displayed, and then our experts will help guide you to the best framing choice. With over 400 frame mouldings and several mount options you can be sure you will find the ideal solution.
Your artwork will be treated with care and consideration as if it was our own. The framing process is done to Fine Art Trade Guild level 3 or above.
Our team combined have over 40 years of framing experience as well as artistic qualifications to help you realise the perfect finishing touch.
To ensure you get the best quality we are members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, with at least one of our picture framers qualified to GCF standard.
We can offer all types of framing, done on the premises, including:
Original art and prints
Mirrors and mirror glass
Painted and stained frames
Memorabilia such as sports gear
You can also buy mouldings, mount card, glass and all the sundry items to make your own frames and hang them. We will supply all the above items as received from the supplier or cut to your specification.
Bespoke picture framing can take up to 28 days, dependent on our backlog. However if you need your work done to a deadline we can usually accommodate you. As soon as the work is ready one of our team will contact you to let you know and find out when you would like to collect.
READY MADE FRAMES
Our range of ready made frames has been selected to match the quality you would expect of a bespoke item from us. We can also assemble your artwork into these frames for a small charge.
FRAMING GUILD STANDARDS
Fine Art Trade Guild levels of framing. Fine Framing only frames to levels 3, 4 and 5.
Level 1 - Minimum - Cheap frames from budget stores.
Level 2 - Budget - Quantity frame suppliers such as DIY stores.
Level 3 - Commended - Quality frames from qualified experienced framers.
Level 4 - Conservation - All frames and materials are high quality & selected to maximise the life of the work.
Level 5 - Museum - A range of expensive high quality materials ensuring maximum life and colour rendition of the artwork.
All our mouldings are high quality hardwood or aluminium. They are plain or decorated, either factory applied or hand finished in our workshop.
We will not stock plastic or composite frames.
Mountcard - All card is pH neutral white core or conservation quality, which means it will not damage your artwork or go brown within a couple of years.
Glass - You can choose from several main types:
Standard 2mm Float Glass - Adequate for most jobs. Offering no UV protection.
Anti-reflective Glass - This has an etched surface to minimise reflection interference. Some image definition is lost. No UV protection.
Conservation Glass - Clear - Where you need maximum UV protection (about 98%). Used for medium to high value pieces.
Museum Water White - Where absolute clarity of colour is necessary but the image needs protection. Used for high value pieces.
Clear Acrylic - For large pieces or where there is a possibility of accidental damage and injury, e.g in a child’s bedroom. Good clarity, scratch resistant and slightly lighter than glass.
Normally ‘D’ rings and picture cord.
Mirror plates will be provided instead where requested.
Strut backs for free standing photographic frames can be specified but are limited to the smaller sizes.
